Ms. Sarah Rupert

Sarah Rupert is the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Director at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia.  She manages $21 million of multi-year foreign assistance funds and directs a ten-person office in implementing rule of law and law enforcement assistance programs. 

Previously, Sarah served in Washington, D.C. as the Economic Unit Chief in the Office of the Coordinator for Cuban Affairs, where she served as Senior Economic Advisor on Cuba.  She also served in the Office of Central American Affairs, monitoring political and economic developments in the countries of Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala.  Her overseas postings include the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, the American Institute in Taiwan’s Taipei Office, and the U.S. Embassy in Caracas.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Sarah was a Peace Corps Volunteer and Volunteer Coordinator in the Dominican Republic.  She received a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.  Sarah’s husband is also a Foreign Service Officer, and they have two children.  Sarah speaks fluent Spanish and is proficient in Chinese, Russian, and Georgian.
