Eka Gigauri assumed the role of Executive Director at Transparency International Georgia in November 2010. Under her leadership, TI Georgia expanded its staff, established five regional offices, and executed numerous successful projects. Eka's recognition as a top Director in the TI Global Movement came in 2015. In November 2019, she was elected as a board member of the Transparency International global movement, serving a three-year term and also became a member of the Open Government Partnerships Civil Society Steering Committee.
Eka Gigauri, with a background in International Relations, holds degrees from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and VU University Amsterdam. Additionally, she completed the Senior Executive Programme at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies and became a Fellow of the Stanford University Democracy and Development Programme in 2017. Her extensive experience spans governmental, non-governmental, and private sectors, with a focus on foreign relations, marketing and communications consultancy, and successful oversight of anti-corruption reforms during her tenure as the Deputy Head of the Border Police of Georgia.
